Anugraha History

Anugraha Institute of Social Sciences (AISS), affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University, was established as a sister concern of Anugraha Institute of Counseling & Psychotherapy in the year 2010 (G.O. 225 / 2010). It is governed by the Franciscan Capuchins of Mary Queen of Peace Province and is administered by Anugraha Trust.

The Sanskrit word “Anugraha” means house of grace or God’s providence. The gradual growth of Anugraha from just 2 students in the year 2010 to thousands bears witness to God’s providence. True to its names, Anugraha tries to be a house of grace by its motto of “Touch to recreate” making positive changes in the lives of rural and poor youth, specially the girls.

Anugraha is unique with its focus on holistic growth of the students. It does not just aim at creating students who will succeed in career but creating better individuals who would succeed in life. A personalized, life oriented and practical approach to learning makes Anugraha unique.

Guided by the values of St. Francis of Assisi, its patron, Anugraha aims to be inclusive, universal and humane in all its endeavors.
